Illustrated Bible

So I've been tossing this idea around in my head for awhile now. I didn't really have the guts to do it, but I FINALLY found someone who DID do this and offered encouragement and online classes...and then I met her!

Shana Noel is an Awesome girl. I told my husband I felt like we would be instantaneous friends, and I ended up spending a lovely Sunday morning and afternoon with her after attending the Illustrated Faith Conferences she taught Friday and Saturday.

Anyway! I wanted to share with you some of my artwork and my story like Shana encouraged us to do at the conference.

I guess I kind of began this process a little after my "come to Jesus" moment...with Christ. I started smashbooking concepts and lessons God was teaching me. I had a journaling bible at the time....but I was too timid to "Smash in it..." what if I messed it up?!

So I wrote prayers and notes from sermons, and bible studies, and little messages I felt God was sending me.

And this Idea kept nagging at me and nagging at me.

and I started surfing the web trying to find someone who was doing it. I had NO idea what it might look like!!!
and then I found Shana, and the Bible Jounraling community on Facebook, and I gained the confidence and started working through my bible as I was doing bible studies and listening to sermons.

It is just a really great way for me to make connections throughout the bible.
And I love that when the Kid sits with us at Church, he flips through the bible and reads the scripture I have highlighted in the Margins.
